Hey. My name is Ben Welsh. This is my Web site.
If we haven’t met already, it’s pretty quick. I’m a native Iowan living in Los Angeles. I like to use this space to post about whatever I’m off on at the moment. My big things are baseball, books, music, movies, whatever is going on. It’s supposed to be fun, but I’m not making any promises.
A previous incarnation of this blog had posts featured by Jack Shafer’s media criticism column on Slate and Jim Romenesko’s media industry blog at Poytner.org. My work here has been highlighted by the conservative magazine The Weekly Standard, the locally focused blog DCist and the DC center for snark, Wonkette, which described one of my creations as “kind of the most depressing Google Maps mashup yet.”
But be warned. If the Columbia Daily Tribune or MSNBC are to be believed, I tend to babble somewhat pretentiously. Sorry about that.
